Corn Bread Hospitalitly

By Teresa Clark, ACP

October was a month of Successful Service for members of the Richmond Paralegal Association ("RPA"). The scheduled events on October 7 and October 11 were well attended and as promised, afforded immeasurable personal reward!

On October 7th, members prepared and served a feast of Chili, corn bread, salad and desserts to patients and their families at the Hospital Hospitality House (HHH), and led a game of Bingo afterward.  The food, all excellently prepared and served, was gratefully consumed by all.  Several patients and their families stayed afterward to play bingo.

The Richmond Heart Walk on October 11th rounded out the week of Successful Service for RPA and its members who together raised $520.00 in the fight against cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

As a 10+ year member of RPA, I was excited when the idea was presented, and delighted to be able to join the group on October 7th.  I knew the event would be successful, because after all, we're Paralegals, but I left HHH that evening feeling humbled and proud to be a Richmond Paralegal!

I am looking forward to attending the Annual Meeting on November 18 at Conch Republic Rocketts and hearing about other members' volunteer experiences.  I have quite a few memories from our evening at HHH, including the excitement and participation from Ms. Caroline Willis, daughter of Angie Willis, CP.  My favorite memory though was the behind the scenes plan to mass produce and market Beth Cheatham's corn bread! IT WAS THAT GOOD!
