It is said that “to do things for others” affords
immeasurable personal reward. This is
one philosophy of the Richmond Paralegal Association (“RPA”), and during the
month of October, its membership is scheduled to “participate!” Two group volunteer activities have been
scheduled by RPA for its “Month of Service.”
On October 7, through its executive board and members, RPA
will provide the food and services needed to host a dinner for patients and
their families at the Hospital Hospitality House (“HHH”) located at 612 East
Marshall Street, Richmond, VA followed by a rousing game of Bingo. Also, RPA has a team participating in the
Richmond Heart Walk on October 11.
It is easy in our busy, active lives as paralegals, sons and daughters, wives and husbands, mothers and fathers,
friends, etc. to lose sight of how fortunate we are – our good health or our
ability to take a walk outdoors on a beautiful autumn day. However, the varied and numerous volunteer
opportunities available make it easy for us to achieve “immeasurable personal
reward,” simply by devoting an evening or afternoon to participate! Admittedly, it is difficult to find the time
to pursue such activities. However, it
is known to be worth the effort. As members
of RPA, we challenge you “to find the time.”
We opine that the personal reward you gain will be immeasurable. Please feel free to consult other pages of
the RPA website for the detailed information regarding our “Month of Service,”
our scheduled volunteer events, and our volunteers’ recognition celebration at
the annual meeting on November 18, 2014, at Conch Republic Rocketts.
Thank you.
